An International Company is looking for an experienced and energetic Operations Manager to lead and mentor their manufacturing plant located north of Seattle. This position requires excellent time management and people skills with a proven track record of setting and meeting ambitious goals in the manufacturing industry.This position requires overall management, direction and coordination of the manufacturing functions of an ISO certified business unit. This position plans, organizes, directs and controls all manufacturing functions while meeting safety, quality, on-time delivery, financial, and continuous improvement goals in an ethical, efficient and safe manner.
Brief list of Responsibilities and Duties
  • Oversees the estimating, planning, scheduling and execution of projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Drives daily production to meet master schedule requirements. 
  • Manages resource allocation (People and Equipment) and overtime to ensure the production demand is met and mentors leaders.
  • Provides timely solutions to operational problems and setbacks. 
  • Employs continuous improvement tools for real time problem resolution to eliminate bottlenecks and barriers to efficient and cost-effective production processes. 
  • Develops plans for the control of output, budget spending, labor efficiency and the utilization of department personnel to provide continuous reduction in production costs.
  • Develops and fosters an enjoyable, positive, rewarding and respectful environment.
  • Will be a hands-on manager who is expected to work closely with employees to identify and implement process improvements such as cycle time reduction, setup reduction, time studies, and overall efficiency. 
  • Works closely with the HR department for employee recruitment, training and development while overseeing the employee performance reviews.
  • Continuously improve the quality processes while maintaining ISO compliance, including all environmental, health and safety procedures.
Brief list of Qualifications and Skills
  1. 6+ years operations experience.
  2. Must have at minimum intermediate proficiency of MS Office suite (particularly Excel).
  3. Refined ability to delegate responsibilities and provide leadership and training/mentoring to key personnel.
  4. Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Possession of key competencies, including conflict management, business negotiation, organization and decision-making.
  6. Fundamental understanding and 2 years of experience in Kaizen, Six Sigma, 5S and other continuous improvement methods.
